About the role
The postholder will work with the NCLE team to oversee the conceptualisation, design and operationalisation of a series of National Priority Projects (NPP) in languages education, and support the development and oversee the coordination of Strategic Learning Networks (SLN) to ensure coherence, synergies and quality. It is envisaged that NPP projects will form a coherent and impactful national curriculum development initiative and support infrastructure which promote NCLE priorities linked to government missions as set out in the NCLE operating plan and informed by the research base collated and promoted by the NCLE.
The postholder will ensure that each project is supported by an effective SLN that brings together a range of partner schools locally, regionally, nationally and possibly internationally into an effective consortium whose work draws on, reinforces and promotes the reach of the NCLE online professional development platform and its reach. The postholder will also ensure that SLNs are well networked with each other, effectively share insights and resources with each other and promote and disseminate project outcomes and lessons learnt.
The post-holder will be located in the International Centre for Intercultural Studies. The Centre promotes intellectually rigorous, practically relevant and interdisciplinary Intercultural Studies that advance understanding of the role of culture in society, education and communication and inform intercultural practices and policy.
