About us:

The Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (PGDip in CBT) is an NHSE clinically commissioned training programme and a British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP) level 2 accredited course. It is based in the Department of Psychology, School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences (MHaPS), Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London (KCL).

The programme is a highly competitive one-year training course for qualified mental health professionals, providing practical, intensive and detailed skills training to facilitate skills development and competence in CBT. Trainees on the course work in Talking Therapy Services (TTS) within NHS Trusts whilst being trained in evidence-based CBT for adults with depression and anxiety disorders.

About the role:

The purpose of this role is to provide high quality administrative support for the PgDip in CBT teaching programme. The post holder will work with a Senior Programme Officer on the delivery of all areas of administration. This includes queries, admissions, student progression, examinations & assessments, student feedback, teaching and clinical placements.

The post holder will provide a high standard of support to the Senior Programme Officer, Course Co-Directors, the CBT Core Teaching Team and the trainees. 

This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 1st June 2026.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  • Degree level or equivalent qualification, plus relevant work experience; OR good knowledge & skills gained experience in a relevant post, demonstrating development through progressively more demanding work
  • Proven communication skills both verbal and written, with ability to draft documentation and problem-solve independently
  • Advanced organizational skills with excellent planning and prioritizing capabilities, with ability to work to and meet firm deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Good numerical ability and ability to manipulate basic statistical information such as examination results
  • High attention to detail and high standards of accuracy in all aspects of work
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office SUITE (Outlook, Word & Excel)

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working with online student & teaching systems, databases & resources (eg SITS/KEATS or similar).
  • Experience of working in a higher and/or further education environment
