Applications are invited to join an established research team investigating ways of helping pregnant women to stop smoking. The team is based in the Centre for Academic Primary Care on the University Park campus at the University of Nottingham and is led by Professor Tim Coleman.
We are seeking a motivated individual with an interest in health behaviour, maternal health and smoking cessation. The purpose of this role will be to assist and support the research team in carrying out academic research, including literature searches, liaising with patient public involvement members, helping to organise and conduct qualitative focus groups, workshops and/or interviews, carrying out analyses and drafting of reports. As we have a team-orientated approach to research, you will be encouraged to contribute to and learn from other projects.
You should have a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area (e.g. psychology, health psychology or other health sciences) and strong research skills. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and capable of motivating others, has excellent team working and organisational skills, and who communicates clearly.
You should be willing to work flexibly in terms of hours and duties as a team member.
The post is available until the 30th June 2026 at 0.6FTE (21.75 hours per week). Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Dr Sophie Orton, Email: Sophie.Orton@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to these addresses will not be accepted.
