Are you looking for a role which gives you the chance to make a real positive difference to the experience of students?
To further the continued success of the School of Education, we are recruiting an Operations Officer to contribute to the delivery of two key areas of our activities;
You will be involved in wide variety of work including but not limited to:
You will need excellent interpersonal skills, including empathy, compassion and patience; as well as strong communication skills including the ability to adapt your style to accommodate people for whom English is not their first language.
You will have experience of working with students and responding independently and dealing with unforeseen circumstances.
You will work well in a team, be highly organised and flexible and be able to thrive in a very fast-paced and at times, highly pressured environment.
You will have good IT, communication and time-management skills. You will be able to prioritise and manage your own workload.
Our success is delivered by our people. We believe that a diverse and supportive environment, bringing different perspectives to our work and allowing people to thrive, is the best platform for cutting-edge research and excellent teaching and operational support. We are seeking individuals from the widest possible range of talents and backgrounds, and we will appoint not just based on past achievements, but also on your potential for the future.
Opportunities for annual leave may be limited between June and September when CELE’s activities are at their height. Flexibility around working hours would be an advantage to enable support of our online students living in different time zones.
Your working hours will be full time (36.25 hours per week). We may also consider job share arrangements. This is a fixed term role ending on Friday 26th September 2025. Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
