Applications are invited for a Senior Research Fellow in Prof. Driscoll's team. The post is intended to support research related to the work of Prof. Driscoll on advanced memory materials and devices, and is available as a consequence of Professor Judith Driscoll being awarded a 5-year continuation of her Chair in Emerging Technologies by the Royal Academy of Engineering.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a record of world-class research related to oxide memristor-based devices, within an established centre with a strong international reputation in this area. They will be involved in the development of research proposals, as Principal Investigator and/or Co-Investigator, and in the leadership and management of research projects. They will develop and maintain strong collaborative links with other research activities in the UK.
The role will require a balance of teaching, research and administrative duties. In terms of teaching, candidates should be able to, or have the strong potential to, inspire and educate a diverse range of students at all levels of the Department's undergraduate and graduate programmes. Responsibilities will include full participation in the design and delivery of undergraduate and graduate courses, laboratory-based teaching, supervising student projects, examining, and supervising post-graduate research students.
Candidates should hold a PhD in a relevant discipline, preferably with a knowledge of oxide semiconductor devices, including fabrication, electrical characterization, and mechanistic understanding. They will have an academic record appropriate for their career stage.
