We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to join our team in the School of Molecular Biosciences.
You will contribute to a project on ‘UVR8 photoreceptor action’ working with Professor Gareth Jenkins.
The purpose of the project is to increase understanding of the mechanisms through which UVR8 initiates responses to UV-B radiation in plants. In particular, the project aims to determine how UVR8 interacts with other proteins to modify gene expression in Arabidopsis and investigate the mechanisms that regulate this process.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.
This post is full time and has funding until 31st December 2026.
Any further enquiries on this post may be directed to Professor Gareth Jenkins via email Gareth.Jenkins@glasgow.ac.uk
