Applications are invited for a Data Manager to join the CRUK Cambridge Centre Cancer Clinical Informatics team on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The Cancer Clinical Informatics team is responsible for many aspects of research informatics in support of our numerous translational and clinical research studies. We deal with collection and aggregation of clinical informatics, medical imaging, digital pathology and genomics data for use by the Centre members, and build and maintain tools for data use and exploration.

Due to our increasing volume of work, we are seeking to recruit a full time Data Manager to join the team. The role will support our existing data manager and cancer informatics lead in the extraction of data from ourclinical systems, the curation and aggregation of data for downstream analysis. Duties include both extraction from our RedCAP instances and the integration of data into our in-house cBioPortal. You will alsowork closely with our study teams to understand and meet their data needs and queries.

Applicants should be educated to degree level or equivalent and have experience of data collection in an NHS clinical or research setting. Experience of writing data handling pipelines in R and/or Python, as well as knowledge of and familiarity with database software, encryption and data protection systems for clinical studies is required. Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office and online databases, are also required. Well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to pay close attention to detail and to work to tight deadlines are essential, as is the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams. While not required, familiarity Linux/Unix environments, and APIs for data transfer is advantageous.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 March 2027 in the first instance.
