This post provides educational leadership for medical student teaching in primary care, based in the General Practice Education Group (GPEG).  GPEG delivers the primary care component of the Cambridge Medical Course for the University of Cambridge medical students of the School of Clinical Medicine.

The post-holder will join and be supported by GPEG and will be accountable to the Director of GP Studies. GPEG is part of the Primary Care Unit, within the Department of Public Health and Primary care, based in the East Forvie Building on the Addenbrookes biomedical campus.

Responsibilities of the job include:

Educational leadership and teaching within GPEG Contributing to the development, delivery and quality assurance of the primary care element of the Cambridge Medical Course Taking responsibility for specific parts of the primary care element of the Cambridge Medical Course Attending meetings relevant to delivery of the Cambridge Medical Course Visiting teaching practices for recruitment and quality assurance purposes Contributing to faculty development for GP teachers and case managing concerns about educators/ placements when they arise.

The post is for 3 Programmed Activity (1PA = 4 hours) sessions per week, based in the GPEG office in Cambridge. Full administrative support is provided by the GPEG administration team.

Funds for this post are available for 3 years from commencement in post, renewable.

You will require GMC registration, Licence to Practice as GP and Medical Defence Cover for the duration of your appointment. This appointment also requires an Honorary Clinical Contract with NHS England.

Location - East Forvie Building, University Forvie Site, Robinson Way, Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Cambridge CB2 0SR (approx 2 miles south of city centre).
