The role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced qualitative researcher to join an exciting new NIHR-funded project to develop a toolkit of resources for people with Parkinson’s, their supporters and clinicians. The toolkit will support the appropriate use of personalised prognostic information and subsequent care planning. The friendly project team is multidisciplinary including clinicians and academics based in Bristol and Aberdeen, Parkinson’s UK and experts by experience.

The interviews will be held on 8th May 2025 (and 9th if needed).

What will you be doing?

The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day running of the project, including: setting up and undertaking focus groups and interviews, analysing qualitative data, iteratively developing intervention resources, organising team meetings and providing progress updates, writing up findings for academic publication and reports, and presenting findings at conferences and events.

You should apply if

  • You have experience in qualitative research and understanding of health intervention design
  • You have enthusiasm for Parkinson’s research
  • A relevant postgraduate degree, i.e., a PhD in a relevant health or social science discipline, or equivalent professional/research experience

Contract type: Open-ended with funding from 01/06/2025 to 28/02/2027

Work pattern: Part-time/0.8 FTE (Hybrid)

Shift pattern: 28 hours per week
