About the role:
The Joint Research Office (JRO) works to serve the research community across the Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC). Organised into specialist teams, JRO staff facilitate the management of research grants and contracts in the Faculty of Medicine. The JRO Contracts Team provides advice on all matters relating to terms and conditions of externally funded research projects and related agreements.
What you would be doing:
The Joint Research Office is seeking to recruit a Contracts Manager to assist the Head of Research Contracts in the implementation and maintenance of an effective and efficient support service for the management of research contracts for academic and administrative staff in the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College.
You will be responsible for negotiation of commercial and non-commercial research funding agreements and related agreements for your specific customer department(s). You’ll have good knowledge of the contractual landscape for research in the higher education environment. You’ll be operationally skilled with the ability to distribute and prioritise effectively and form working relationships with staff at all levels in the organisation.
What we are looking for:
You will have experience of reviewing, drafting and negotiating research contracts (preferably within the Higher Education, NHS, charitable or related sectors) together with proven experience of working independently and as part of a team. You will have an eye for detail and will be able to work to deadlines. You will be committed to the delivery of customer services and have a “can do” approach.
