We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to contribute to a project of creating a digital map for the AHRC-DFG project Hindu-Muslim-Jewish Origin Legends in Circulation between the Malabar Coast and the Mediterranean, 1400s-1800s, working with Ophira Gamliel and Ines Weinrich. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research outputs as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.
You will be responsible for harvesting geographical and historical data in the Malayalam language and to provide content for a digital map and the project’s website (https://himuje-malabar.glasgow.ac.uk/). You will contribute to the design of the visuals displayed on both. Proficiency in spoken and written Malayalam is a prerequisite for this position, as you will be working with primary and secondary sources that are available only in Malayalam.
