The role
Bristol Medical School is seeking to appoint a part-time (0.5 FTE) Teaching Administrator to support the delivery of undergraduate medical student administration in Primary Care. This position is being offered as a secondment with an end date of 31st October 2025. Working as part of a large, busy and friendly undergraduate administration team you will assist with the Primary Care element of the medical undergraduate programme, liaising frequently with over 100 GP practices across the South West to organise student placements and clinical teaching, ensuring a high quality student and staff experience.
What will you be doing?
You will work in partnership with academic and other professional services staff and play a key role in supporting the administration of the undergraduate medical programme, focussing on Primary Care. This includes organising GP placements, supporting GP teaching delivery and GP workshop events.
This role requires an individual to be both a team player, with a willingness to take initiative and be proactive. We are seeking someone who can work in partnership with academic, clinical (internal and external), and professional services staff to deliver effective, efficient activities and processes, yet be flexible and adaptable to different situations and able to troubleshoot. Building excellent working relationships with NHS colleagues is crucial.
You should apply if
We are looking for someone that will be able to flourish in a busy and challenging but very rewarding role. The medical programme is complex and non-standard and there is a regular need to think innovatively, developing new processes and providing valuable input into a changing environment. You will have an excellent eye for detail, be confident handling data, aware of GDPR and confidentiality, and strive to deliver excellence in every aspect of your work.
The post-holder will also be a good team player, able to work effectively and professionally with staff at all levels in the School, Faculty, and externally with colleagues in the NHS.
