About the Role
The Events and Communications Officer is an integral part of the entrepreneurship ecosystem at QMUL, coordinating and executing a programme of events and communications focused on entrepreneurship. Based in Queen Mary Innovation Ltd (QMI are the University’s technology transfer company), you will work with other parts of the University including the Research and Innovation Directorate, the School of Business and Management, Careers and Enterprise and the Events and Ceremonies team, to deliver a wide range of relevant and inspiring events and communications for our audience. Reporting to the Innovation Communications Manager at QMI, and working closely with the Associate Director – Entrepreneurship and the University Head of Events and Ceremonies, you will contribute to enhancing the University’s entrepreneurship brand and achieving its strategic goals, supporting a step change in this activity.
The post is based in Whitechapel, London (with the opportunity to work remotely for some of the time) and is a full time, 18 months fixed term appointment. The starting salary will be in the range of £30,00-40,000 per annum, depending on experience, inclusive of London Allowance.

Experienced in events and communications management, you will have the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously. Your ability to work to a brief, yet also think outside the box, is key to delivering a flexible and exciting programme of activity. You are organised and proactive, with an inclusive and understanding approach in delivering on audience needs.
