The role
This is an NIHR funded position for an Academic Clinical Lecturer (post doctoral) GP who has an interest in and skills for developing the understanding of the role of AI for medical students and GP trainees and to undertake original research in the use of AI in early diagnosis of cancer in primary care.
What will you be doing?
This post allows for 50/50 academic and clinical activities. The academic work will be split between research and education based in the Centre for Academic Primary Care in the Bristol Medical School. The education element will be undertaking pedagogical research, looking at the needs of medical students and GP trainees as they enter a world of work where AI is rapidly changing clinical care. The research will develop their doctoral work in a cognate discipline, collaborating with colleagues across the medical school and the NHS to obtain research grants, write papers, and lead to the development of an application for an Advanced Fellowship. Clinical work will be undertaken at a local general practice.
