The role
The GW4 Alliance (GW4) is looking for an experienced research professional to join us as a Research Culture Officer. We are a consortium of four of the most research-intensive and innovative universities in the UK: Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter. Collaboration sits at the very heart of the GW4 Alliance. Working with other organisations, industry, and society, we aim to enhance research collaboration; address global, societal, and industrial challenges; and inform policy at national and international levels.
The GW4 Directorate is funded by all four partner universities, and together we identify areas of complementary expertise within GW4 universities to build research capacity and provide a rich environment to develop the researchers of tomorrow. The key objective for the role is to lead the GW4 Research Culture programme, a newly identified strategic priority for GW4, which aims to position GW4 universities as sector leaders in research culture change.

We recently launched our strategy to 2030 tying together our mission, vision and values.
The University of Bristol aims to be a place where everyone feels able to be themselves and do their best in an inclusive working environment where all colleagues can thrive and reach their full potential. We want to attract, develop, and retain individuals with different experiences, backgrounds and perspectives – particularly people of colour, LGBT+ and disabled people - because diversity of people and ideas remains integral to our excellence as a global civic institution.
