As part of our commitment to the continued expansion of pharmacy and medicine at Bangor University, the newly formed North Wales Medical School seeks to appoint 2 positions as Lecturers or Senior Lecturers in Pharmaceutical Science to contribute to the development of our MPharm degree programme, due to launch in September 2025. These posts will focus on either Pharmaceutics (i.e. drug delivery, formulation and medicines manufacture) or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or applicants may have an overlap of these areas of focus. This post is advertised through either a Teaching-focussed (T&S) or Research-focussed (T&R) route and dependent on experience and potential, the successful applicant may be appointed as either a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed academic with expertise in either pharmaceutical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, drug formulation, pharmaceutics or related pharmaceutical science area. Candidates are expected to be able to teach their area of expertise within a modern, integrated MPharm curriculum which includes interweaving pharmaceutical science in with patient cases and therapeutic area contexts. Working with the Professional Body (GPhC) on curriculum development or programme recognition is also particularly desirable. 

Research opportunities within the developing NWMS currently focus around cancer biology and pharmacology, medicines use and optimisation, personalised medicines, clinical trials, pharmaceutical economics, policy and prescribing. Candidates wishing to be considered for a T&;R (research) route will need to indicate how they will develop their research portfolio within a new and developing School. 

Candidates wishing to be considered for the Senior Lecturer position will need to evidence extensive curriculum management and development experience and/or an extensive research track record. 

The post is full-time and permanent, and the successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as practical. At the point of application, applicants should indicate whether they are applying via the T&R (research-focused) or T&S (teaching-focused) route.
