We are keen to support applications for a major fellowship for talented researchers who are keen to establish a longer-term career at the University of Sussex. This award is expected to last for 5 years and should cover all (or a substantial portion) of the fellow’s salary. We would offer mentorship to develop your bid, an attractive start-up package including additional funding for a PhD studentship, and a transparent tenure-track process. Possible funding schemes include ERC starting grants, UKRI future leaders, Wellcome Early Career Awards, NIHR Advanced Fellowships, and Royal Society Fellowships. We are also keen to host a fellowship of shorter duration (e.g. Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships) but this would not be eligible for our start-up package.
Informal enquiries are encouraged throughout the year to the Deputy Head of School, Prof. Jamie Ward. For ERC starting grants, a specific deadline of 15th May 2025 is set to be considered for the October 2025 deadline (please send a CV and a 1-page covering letter with a brief outline of the grant)
