The School of Global Studies at the University of Sussex invites applications for an Assistant Professor in International Relations. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in:

  • Global Environmental Politics

About the role

We are looking for an excellent teacher with high-quality and cutting-edge research in International Relations. The appointee will be expected to teach in the field of global environmental politics, including modules in the Environment and Development in World Politics; Environment, Resources, Security; and the Political Economy of the Environment.

The successful candidate will normally possess a doctorate in International Relations or cognate discipline and show clear evidence of teaching experience and academic publications.

About you

Ideally, you will have a PhD in International Relations or closely related field. Your research and teaching interests should align with those of the Department.

You will ideally have previous experience of teaching International Relations at degree level and will be passionate about delivering high quality teaching and support to students.

You will be a collegiate individual with an enthusiasm to participate fully as an active and integral member of the Department.
