We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Strategic Research Partnership to join the department of Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange (RIKE).
The University has ambitious plans to continue growing its research and innovation activities. A major factor in achieving these plans will be the ability to significantly grow its portfolio of large-scale, multi-partner, cross-discipline research programmes, typically supported by grants from sources such as UKRI.
As Head of Strategic Research Partnership, you will provide strategic leadership, and focused operational support, to develop a growing portfolio of large-scale research programmes across the University. You will work closely with the Director of RIKE, key internal and external influencers, UK funding agencies, and key academic leads in the schools to identify, develop, and deliver a growing portfolio of high value (i.e. £multi-million), multi-partner research and innovation programmes.
Educated to degree level, or equivalent education/training/work-based experience, you will have a postgraduate research qualification (e.g. PhD), or equivalent work-based experience of undertaking research projects. You will have a track-record of securing significant levels of resource and innovation funding from a variety of sources (e.g. Research Councils, UKRI-cross council, Innovate UK and National Academies), as well as extensive experience of preparing bids and related documentation for large-scale research grants and contracts, including costing/pricing, project scoping/authoring, engagement with industry partners, impact planning and negotiating collaboration terms.
We offer an excellent employment package including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
The University is deeply committed to equality and diversity for all its students and staff. We seek to be diverse and inclusive, supporting individuals and groups to fulfil their potential and nurture a sense of belonging. We strive to be an accessible, inclusive employer, removing barriers for all. Find out more about our approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, including our commitments and accreditations as a Disability Confident Employer, Stonewall Gold Award holder and Top 100 Employer, Athena SWAN Bronze Award holder and Race Equality Charter Bronze Award holder.
Informal enquiries are welcome to the Director of RIKE, Professor Parik Goswami, via email: p.goswami@hud.ac.uk
