We have an opportunity for a Project Coordinator to work in the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology & International Health and the International Statistics & Epidemiology Group. The group comprises 35 statisticians and epidemiologists based in London and research centres in Africa, with a portfolio of research covering a range of diseases of public health importance, including HIV, TB, malaria, neglected diseases and mental health.
The successful applicant will lead all aspects of the administrative and financial management of a portfolio of research projects. As first point of contact for those projects, the post-holder will provide guidance on their management and administration, working closely with the Principal Investigators (PIs), Department Manager, Programme Manager, and liaising with partner institutions.
Applicants must have higher education to degree level or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience and substantial experience of providing proactive administrative support of academic (or related) research, including ability to monitor large budgets, prepare accurate costings, projections and reports. The post-holder must be able to use initiative and judgement to solve problems, manage a busy workload and work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed-term for 3 years. The post is available immediately.
The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale, Grade 5 in the range £39,182-£41,240 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
