Research Support Assistant

About the role

The Department of Social Policy and Intervention is seeking a Research Support Assistant to join the Global Parenting Initiative, a research group led by Professor Jamie Lachman. You will contribute to a research project focused on developing a construct to measure parental engagement in Learning Through Play (LTP). The primary aim of this project is to establish a robust framework for measuring parental engagement in LTP while gaining a deeper understanding of its contributing factors and the potential impact of parenting interventions.

The Research Support Assistant will provide general research management support and play a key role in assisting with data pooling tasks, ensuring data quality, and contributing to the project's analytical processes. You will report to the GPI Head of Research as part of an international research team with wide policy and programming impact. 

About you

You will have a Master’s degree (or currently be enrolled in a Master’s programme) in a relevant field, as well as experience in data integration, including extracting and merging variables from different databases using statistical software and proficiency in R. With strong academic writing skills you will be able to conduct data visualisation and summarise data effectively. A good communicator, you will be well organised, able to meet deadlines and willing to work both independently and as part of a team. An interest in parenting, child development and family support research is also desirable.

You will be based in Oxford as your normal place of work however there is opportunity for remote working.
