The Role
The University is seeking to recruit an experienced governance professional to this key role which is responsible for supporting the University’s senior governance functions, ensuring that Council and key sub-committees and sub-groups are operating efficiently and effectively, and the highest standards of support are provided to Council members and senior staff members.
The appointment is being made at a time when numerous governance improvements have been implemented at the University, and this role should support both effective ongoing governance administration and the further development of good governance at the University.
Reporting to the Secretary to Council, the post holder will work alongside colleagues in the office to support all aspects of high-level University governance management and administration, including: the drafting of committee agendas and papers and other related material, monitoring governance compliance, minute taking, facilitating best practice and ensuring the smooth operation of the office.
The Governance Manager is directly accountable to the Secretary to Council, assisting them in maintaining and developing further the effectiveness and efficiency of the office, ensuring that it continues to meet the governance requirements of the University. The post holder will support the Secretary to Council by ensuring appropriate arrangements are in place for meetings and the ongoing effective operation of the University’s governance.
