Business Administration Apprentice (Level 3)

University of Buckingham - Faculty of Computing, Law & Psychology / Law School

Location: Buckingham
Salary: £13,974 per annum
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract
Placed On: 28th April 2025
Closes: 23rd May 2025

The University of Buckingham has a unique atmosphere, unlike that of any other higher educational institution. Despite being the UK’s smallest university and the only independent university to hold a Royal Charter, Buckingham has staff from over 25 countries, making it a truly distinctive work environment.  Whichever of our locations you find yourself working in, you will be sure to feel a part of our friendly community.

The Law School and Clinical Legal Education team provide essential and valuable support to law students across a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, helping the Law School to function in the most efficient and productive way, ensuring that the students’ experience is second to none.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Apprentice to provide administrative support to our small and friendly Law School’s Clinical Legal Education service, helping us to deliver high-quality services for the university’s students.  An ideal opportunity for candidates with a strong interest in law and the perfect platform to explore future career opportunities in the professional business or legal sector.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, able to work both independently and collaboratively, and keen to learn. You will need to be conscientious and well organised, and able to manage a varied workload of administrative responsibilities while completing a Business Administration Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship (equivalent to 2 A levels). Your Apprenticeship training will be undertaken together with our other Apprentices and delivered by our Apprenticeships Manager, so there will be lots of support available.

Please refer to the Job Profile for more details about the key responsibilities of this role.

This is a full-time role, ideally starting in January 2025, and initially employed on an 18-month fixed term contract, based at the University’s Buckingham campus. Your qualifications must include Maths and English GCSE Grade A*-C / 9-4 (or equivalent).

We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job if they think they can’t tick every box, but we are invested in our people and their development, so we encourage you to apply if you believe you have the majority of the skills and experience required and are keen to develop further!

What can we offer you?

We might be small, but we can still offer plenty of perks!  In addition to an Aviva Pension scheme, we offer:

  • Beautiful working environment
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Christmas closure
  • On-site gym and classes
  • On-site catering facilities
  • University bookshop with staff discount
  • Free parking
  • Discount of courses for staff and their families

If you would like an informal chat about the role before applying, please contact Julie O’Shea, Clinical Legal Education Manager, julie.oshea@buckingham.ac.uk.

The closing date for applications is Friday, 23 May 2025 and it is anticipated that interviews will be held within two weeks of that date.

Please note: if successful, any offer is subject to standard checks, including qualifications, eligibility to work in the UK on a permanent basis and DBS (if applicable)
