We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate in Intelligent Robotics for Contact-Rich Manufacturing in the Digital Manufacturing Group. In this role, you will develop advanced systems that enable robots to perform complex manufacturing tasks requiring physical interaction with high adaptability and precision. Working at the intersection of robotics, artificial intelligence, and automation, you'll create solutions that address real industrial challenges and transform manufacturing capabilities.
The position is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) through the “Robotic Skill Transfer and Augmentation for contact-rich tasks in Manufacturing” project (STAMAN). STAMAN is a UK-based manufacturing research programme, established with the aim of advancing the application of robotics in complex manufacturing processes.
