About the role
This is a four-year Advanced Apprenticeship.
While working at the University of Bath, the successful applicant will receive support for a formal Level 4 or Level 6 day-release training course, depending on their qualifications and experience.
Additional training, including but not limited to Aruba and Cisco networking certifications, may also be provided.
Working within the Networking team, the post-holder will work in Digital Data and Technology group (DDaT) supporting the Wi-Fi and networking for all areas of the University of Bath, including our on and off Campus residential buildings.
Providing 1st line technical support for IT services and systems at the University.
The post-holder will contribute to support processes, involved in maintenance of current systems, resolving problems, documentation and improving service levels.
During your four year apprenticeship there will be an opportunity to gain experience working in different areas of IT, spending time in other teams within DDaT.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about technology and will be able to show how they have put that interest to practical use in their life.
Standard University business hours are 9.00 am – 5.20 pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00 am – 5.10 pm Friday on Campus. From time to time you will be required to work outside these hours, for example to manage maintenance during less disruptive periods such as a 7.00 am start on Tuesdays for the ‘at-risk’ period.
Depending on the successful candidate we can be flexible on the starting date of this position.
Informal enquiries about the post may be made to Robert Cleaves, R.Cleaves@bath.ac.uk.
Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) plays a vital part in enabling the University’s staff, students and researchers achieve its strategic goals, and it is within this forward-thinking team that you could find an exceptional challenge, plus the scope to develop your skills and expertise even further.
