As a Research Associate in Cancer Immunology at the Ono Lab, you will play a pivotal role in uncovering new mechanisms of anti-tumour T cell responses. This position offers the opportunity to conduct ground-breaking research aimed at developing novel strategies for immunotherapy treatments using cutting-edge methods including the Timer-of-cell-kinetics-and-activity (Tocky) tools, which have been developed in the Ono lab.

What you would be doing:

  • Explore and elucidate mechanisms within the immune system, focusing on T cells and their regulatory pathways in the context of cancer immunity.
  • Employ our lab-developed Timer-of-cell-kinetics-and-activity (Tocky) method, leveraging the unique properties of the Fluorescent Timer protein to analyse T cell dynamics at the single-cell level.
  • Conduct comprehensive studies using a range of in vivo and in vitro models to advance our understanding of T cell behaviour and its implications for cancer treatment.

What we are looking for:

  • Extensive experience with cancer models, particularly those relevant to T cell studies, as well as in vivo models for non-cancer T cell biology studies essential to advancing cancer immunology.
  • A strong background in molecular biology techniques, including proficiency in flow cytometric analysis to characterize T cell differentiation and behaviour.
  • Proven expertise in managing transgenic mouse colonies, with a strong commitment to high standards of animal welfare.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a collaborative research team environment and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, fostering their academic and professional growth.

What we can offer you:
