About the Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Research Fellow to join the Power Electronics, Machines and Drives Research Institute (PEMC) at the University of Nottingham and become a core member of a team researching power electronic converter design, control, construction and testing of power electronic converters in high power applications.
About the Team
The PEMC institute has grown exponentially and now has over 200 members, 24 academics and circa 130 PhD students, researchers, and engineers. The group offers state-of-the-art facilities spanning 3500m², capable of handling up to 5MW for construction and testing.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Research Fellow to drive forward and support the aligned research work at Nottingham. Candidates must have significant prior research experience in insulation systems and experience within collaborative projects involving multiple industry partners. Reporting to Prof Chris Gerada, the role holder will work with the academics, researchers and PhD students in managing and conducting research activities across the programme. Prior direct experience of successful PhD student supervision is essential.
Candidates must hold a MSc, MEng or BEng in Electrical or Mechanical engineering (or closely related i.e. Automotive, Aerospace) and a PhD in an appropriate field.

This post is available on a fixed term basis for 2 years. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours); Job share arrangements may be considered. Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
