The role
We are seeking a motivated interdisciplinary researcher to join the University of Bristol, as part of the Airbus led Aerospace Technology Institute / IUK funded AVIATION1 project. The research will investigate innovative passive vibration control methods for lightweight structures located on the wings of the next generation fixed-wing aircraft. The main aim of the research is to propose and mature efficient damping solutions realisable under broad range of design constraints and complex operational conditions.
As part of the role, it would be expected that the candidate works closely with Airbus and other partners in the AVIATION1 project, making regular presentations, writing progress reports, completing project deliverables and disseminating findings through conference and journal publications. The successful candidate will become a member of active and widely recognised Dynamics and Control Research Group with access to state-of-the-art research facilities.
