We are seeking an individual to play a leadership role in teaching, research and knowledge exchange activities related to Public Law. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to progress their career and specialism within a leading law school.
The successful candidate will be an academic of national and growing international reputation in the field of Public Law who will contribute to the collegial, supportive and energetic research culture in Strathclyde Law School. They will be expected to direct a research programme of international excellence through publication, presentation, funding acquisition and knowledge exchange. They will demonstrate research leadership, contribute to the development of Public Law activities within the School, and collaborate with colleagues across the School, Faculty, University and elsewhere. It is expected that the successful candidate will contribute to the REF and other research audits.
The successful candidate will lead and contribute to teaching, particularly in the fields of constitutional and administrative law as they relate to the UK and Scotland, although the ability to contribute to the wider teaching portfolio would be an advantage. Strathclyde Law School delivers its teaching primarily at our campus in Glasgow, although it offers blended-learning, online and overseas study opportunities. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the development of new teaching initiatives and setting of appropriate academic standards.
The postholder will provide academic leadership and contribute at a strategic level to the work of the School, Faculty and University.
Staff at the University of Strathclyde are normally expected to be on campus three days a week, pro rata.
