The department of Physics are looking to recruit a Cryomagnetics Technician in a full time permanent position.

The post-holder will work as part of a small team of engineers and technicians, under the supervision of the Head of Cryomagnetics Group, setting up and operating cryogenic equipment, high-field magnets and vacuum systems in support of the science programmes in the Clarendon Laboratory and in other Departments, including production, storage and delivery of cryogenic fluids and assistance in the training and practical supervision of internal and external users, students and other researchers.

About You

The postholder must have Engineering and technical expertise and experience, supported by a relevant qualification, such as HNC/HND and/or apprenticeship in a relevant subject and sufficient knowledge in the area of cryogenics and vacuum systems. The ability to to work in a team with a customer-oriented attitude. Knowledge of health and safety requirements for a technical lab and IT skills are also essential.
