Technician (Licensed Animal Technician)

The starting salary will be from £27,644 on Grade (D), depending on qualifications and experience.

The University of Exeter wishes to recruit a full-time Licensed Animal Technician (rodents) and Assistant Lab Manager to work with academic and technical staff in the University’s Biological Research Facilities. The post is available on the Streatham Campus immediately on a permanent basis.

An essential member of the BSU (Biological Service Unit) team, the post holder will be part of a team, supporting the day-to-day husbandry of animals in the University’s rodent research facilities (BSU), both in terms of maintaining animal husbandry and supporting the operational needs of a multitude of research projects. They will have an active personal licence and be responsible for supporting the BSU Manager in all operations, including animal care, experimental support and health and safety as well as working with personnel and contractors to maintain the facilities.

This role is within the Technical Strategy & Operations part of the Division. We are research and teaching technical staff across the entirety of the University of Exeter.
