About the role
The School of Education Communication and Society are seeking to recruit an outstanding Mathematics education specialist to play a central role in the development of research and teaching in Mathematics education at King’s.
The successful candidate will be a member of the vibrant and friendly Centre for Research in Education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (CRESTEM).
They will play a key role in the leadership and mentoring of Mathematics education colleagues within CRESTEM, contribute to teaching and supervision in Maths and STEM education across doctoral, MA and ITE programmes, conduct and publish outstanding research, obtain external funding for new research projects, and help to promote a culture of interdisciplinary collaboration within and beyond CRESTEM.
The successful candidate will have an established research funding track record, and be committed to the dissemination of research and the building of impact through outreach and continuing professional development initiatives. They will also have experience of initial teacher education in Mathematics, and knowledge of professional and policy issues related to ITE in the UK context.
They will also have experience of academic leadership and a collegial approach to leading teams. In particular, they will have a commitment to justice and equity-based perspectives in Mathematics education.
