Are you passionate about carrying out research in vaccine development against infections with human papillomavirusus?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the research programme led by Dr César López-Camacho at the Jenner Institute, Nuffield Department of Medicine.
Reporting to Dr César López-Camacho, Group Leader in mRNA technologies (Jenner Institute, Nuffield Department of Medicine), and to Dr Karin Hellner, HPV Research Group Lead (Nuffield Department of Women’s & Reproductive Health), you will be involved in the early stages of pre-clinical vaccine development exploring the immunogenicity of such vaccine candidates. You will manage your own academic research and admirative activities which involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspect of work to meet deadlines. You will also carry out collaborative projects with colleagues in partner institutions and contribute ideas for new research projects.
It is essential that you hold a PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics or related field together with relevant and proven wet-lab experience in mRNA biology, biogenesis, biosynthesis and modifications for de novo mRNA synthesis. You will be able to manage own academic research and associated activities and work with a diverse, translational research team. Having experience in encapsulation of cargo molecules, with strong knowledge in mRNA stability and lipidic encapsulation is desirable.
