Faculty / Directorate
The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences comprises of four specialist schools – Leicester School of Allied Health Sciences, The School of Applied Social Sciences, The School of Nursing and Midwifery, and Leicester School of Pharmacy. The Faculty has a long tradition of providing high quality education and development to professionals who make a significant difference to lives, health, wellbeing, communities and society. The dedicated facilities are designed to replicate current practice and feature industry-standard equipment, enabling staff and students to undertake life changing projects to improve health and social care.
Role
You will be joining the Division of Education, and a dedicated and experienced team who teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We are seeking a self-motivated individual to teach across our Education Studies BA programme. This role will also include administrative duties associated with teaching, as well as supporting students academically and pastorally. An ability to contribute positively to the Division and School research profile is also desirable.
Ideal Candidate
You should have an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in Education or a cognate discipline. You will have proven experience of successful and supportive teaching in a higher education institution or allied field.
You will also have experience of providing appropriate pastoral care and support to students from diverse backgrounds and with differing levels of need. We are especially interested in recruiting a colleague with one or more of the following subject specialisms: creativity in education, gender in education, and contemporary issues in education, such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. An understanding for evidence-based teaching and learning is necessary.
