About the role:
This is a vacancy for a Degree Apprenticeship Compliance Officer within the Student Returns and Data Management Division of Academic Registry. The role involves ensuring DfE regulatory compliance and audit readiness, undertaking compliance checks for all new and existing apprentices, the verification of Gateway evidence and Off the Job training. This is an exciting role which will require the post holder to engage with a range of stakeholders including academic colleagues and relevant professional services within the University. They will be responsible for conducting regular internal audits and sampling exercises that will comprise analysing, evaluating and reporting on data in order to ensure compliance with external regulatory requirements. They will also be required to work collaboratively with relevant colleagues to draw up action plans to address any areas of non-compliance.
About you:
The successful candidate will be professional, self-motivated and solution focused and will have the ability to work without supervision. They will be competent in organising, planning and prioritising work to meet deadlines and they must have the ability to analyse, evaluate, interpret, present and report on data. They will have excellent attention to detail and have an aptitude to focus on the accuracy of data and have the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the University.
The role requires the skilful employment of Microsoft Excel and various University student information and portfolio systems and other IT platforms used by external End Point Assessment Organisations, so the candidate will need to be comfortable using IT and learning new systems quickly thereby ensuring that the University is well-placed to meet the changing requirements of the sector. The successful candidate will have an An undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area, e.g. Statistics, Information Management, etc. or significant professional experience plus GCSE maths and English Language.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who must have a high level of verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of people on a daily basis. You must be a confident communicator, able to prioritise a busy workload and multitask. Candidates must be team players, hold developed people skills and exercise tact along with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
