About the role:
The School wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Optometry and Ophthalmic Dispensing (Optometrist) to support the delivery of the Vision Sciences educational provision and assessment of credit bearing courses in this area as the provision grows. The role holder will be expected to contribute to academic development, delivery and management in optometry and ophthalmic dispensing (including the planning and management of the ongoing development of apprenticeships and requirements for accreditation by relevant bodies) within the School of Medicine at the University of Central Lancashire.
About you:
The successful candidate will have experience of teaching in Higher Education alongside experience of commercial CPD delivery. Registration with the General Optical Council an optometrist is essential as well as a good honours degree in Optometry or equivalent in a relevant area plus at least two years’ post-registration experience in order to be able to supervise students in the Eye Health Clinic. Additionally, candidates will have excellent negotiating and influencing skills together with the ability to build productive relationships with different stakeholders.
