The School of Computing, Engineering & The Built Environment at Edinburgh Napier University is currently seeking an enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Fellow in computational fluid-structure interaction to join our growing research team. The successful candidate will work on the EPSRC-funded project, MAPFSI, focusing on developing computational algorithms for fluid-structure interaction problems including multiphysics effect of electromagnetism into consideration.
The aim of the project is to develop a bespoke multiphysics simulation framework for large deformations of magnetoactive polymers and their interactions with fluids for a range of applications in biomedical engineering, soft robotics for medical treatment. The project offers an excellent opportunity for budding researchers in computational mechanics/engineering to advance the field with new and improved finite element formulations and coupling schemes for large deformations of magnetoactive polymers and large deformation FSI problems in confined environments.
The Role
The research fellow is expected to carry out independent research and develop new computational methodologies and the associated software under the guidance of the PI and other collaborators in the project. The duties and responsibilities of the research fellow are:
