About Role
We are recruiting a Reception Supervisor to lead the team at Residences Reception. Residences Reception is located at the heart of our student residences on the Mile End Campus. The Residences Reception operates, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This role involves working 8am – 4pm, 5 days out of 7 which is currently Tuesday – Saturday inclusive (with Sunday and Monday as days off), although a flexible approach is required to cover annual leave, busy periods and university closure periods during December when Reception remains fully open. Reporting to the Residential Operations Manager, you will continually develop the reception team and be an integral part of the Residential Services Management Team, providing assistance to the 3000 residents living across 4 sites. As the primary point of contact for students residing on campus, as well as guests and visitors, the reception service plays a crucial role in ensuring customer needs are met promptly and professionally.
The position is based at the Mile End Campus in London and is full-time and permanent. The starting salary for this role will be from £39,065 per annum inclusive of the London allowance.
About You
The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and have experience of managing a small team. A knowledge of students and their needs whilst living in halls is a requirement of the post. Whilst the working pattern is fixed, there are times when the post holder will need to be flexible with hours to cover busy periods such as move in weekend and open days plus the summer period when rooms are let out to conference guests. The successful candidate will participate in an on call out of hours rota during the summer trade (beg June – mid September annually) to respond to operational queries and covering one week in two; the salary offered reflects this responsibility.
