Humanities Research Centre
The Humanities Research Centre provides leadership and support for research, impact, knowledge exchange and public engagement across the world-leading Faculty of Arts & Humanities at the University of York. The HRC has a four-fold mission:
Faculty Impact Administrator
The role supports the generation and capture of research impact, including for the submission of impact case studies from the University’s Arts & Humanities schools and departments to the next Research Excellence Framework exercise (REF). The role works closely with the Faculty Impact Manager (Arts & Humanities) within the Research Support Team of the Humanities Research Centre.
The role holder will provide effective and efficient support to academic researchers in the Faculty of Arts & Humanities to harvest evidence of impact produced by research projects in the Faculty. They will collect, analyse, report on and store a variety of data, including data required for the preparation of REF impact case studies.
Demonstrating research impact requires a clear link to be made between underpinning research and an effect or change in the public, economic, political, environmental or social sphere. The role holder will therefore require a specialist understanding of the Arts & Humanities. Some understanding of the sorts of partners and publics with whom Arts & Humanities researchers typically engage, is also desirable.
The role holder will need the ability to interpret specialist guidance on impact criteria from research funders and to communicate this appropriately to academics in the Faculty. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are therefore essential.
