Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a part-time IT & AV Support Specialist to join the Information Services team providing a high-quality, responsive support service to all staff and students.
Our IT support specialists at Birkbeck deliver front-line support for the deployment, maintenance and use of computers and classroom-based equipment to provide a high-quality, customer-focused experience.
As IT & AV Support Specialist, you must have a strong self-motivated approach, with the ability to work at pace, and the competence to deliver a first-time fix for our Birkbeck users. You will work in a team, part-time for 17.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 5pm to 8:30pm to provide a service to students and staff.
To succeed in this role, you should have significant previous experience of providing second-line support and working with specialist technical teams to provide solutions to our users, who are from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and work in highly demanding environments.
Birkbeck will provide support and training on our IT systems, and development for you to build on and update your skills. However, a solid and demonstrable understanding of MS Windows and Networking (gained in a corporate environment) is essential.
The support of audio-visual equipment in a classroom environment and experience of working in higher education would also be an advantage.

£17,173 rising to £19,221 per annum - actual. (Pro-rated £34,346 to £38,443 FTE). Grade 5 on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated London Weighting Allowance.
