Project Overview:

London South Bank University SITHub research group https://www.lsbu.ac.uk/research/centres-groups/smart-internet-technologies-hub-sithub#content5-406934, is participating in cutting-edge CELTIC MECON research project, focusing on network automation in 6G network architectures. The candidate aims to work in the following areas: Machine learning and AI-driven resilience for next generation network architectures, predictive network resilience models and dynamic resource allocation and traffic management in response to network outages.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Researcher to join our team for 14 months full-time engagement, with a possibility of extension based on project needs and performance. The ideal candidate will have experience with network optimisation and resilience in next generation networks. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on ground-breaking technologies at the intersection of telecommunications, AI and cloud computing technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use of ML to handle resilience and fail over in 6G architectures
  • Design and develop robust network slicing in 6G architectures

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with researchers, engineers, and stakeholders from both the London South Bank University and researchers from CELTIC MECON consortium partners.
  • Participate in regular project meetings, providing updates on progress and technical challenges.
  • Contribute to project deliverables, design solutions, technical specifications and developed software.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • PhD degree in either Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering or in Computer Science complimented complimented by experience in software development
  • Strong background in software design for telecom subsystems, components (e.g., protocol implementation, etc)
  • Excellent theoretical and computing kills in the areas of network optimisation (Game Theory, ILP, NP problem relaxation, Lagrange optimization)
  • Established publication record (minimum 3 journal publications in the relevant area. At least one publication in 5G technologies in high quality journals (IEEE/ACM Transactions, IEEE Communication Letters)).
  • Experience in programming languages such as C, Python
  • Prior experience of 3GPP 5G technologies (desirable)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively within a research-driven environment.
