As Strategic Partnerships Officer, you will support the delivery of the University strategy for external engagement across Research and Enterprise, with the overall aim of meeting the University’s enhanced external income targets and Higher Education Business – Community Interactions (HE-BCI) and Knowledge Exchange Framework survey ranking aspirations.
You will support the Strategic Partnerships Manager in the University’s external engagement activity within private, public and third sector organisations and industry. You will also support with the strategic management and development of collaborative work with the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and the West Midlands Combined Universities (WMCU).
In addition, you will support and monitor the identification, development, and delivery of industry relationships.
We are looking for someone with a high level of emotional intelligence who has the ability to develop strong working relationships with staff at all levels across the University to ensure quality service delivery, demonstrating political awareness, diplomacy and tact. You will have experience of market research, business development and partnership development within the HE sector; experience of working at a similar level within higher education or a similar organisation; excellent customer service experience, including the ability to deal with challenging situations both internally and externally; excellent communication skills, verbal and written and excellent presentation skills to communicate effectively in all situations to varied audiences. In addition, you will have knowledge and understanding of different models of collaborative partnerships; knowledge and understanding of the inception, development, launch, optimisation and exit aspects of the partnership development process; a working understanding of building and maintaining stakeholder relationships and a good understanding of Higher Education performance reporting mechanisms e.g. REF, KEF, HE-BCI.
