We need an excellent candidate to lead and develop a specialist team that is responsible for research and enterprise (R&E) Governance, Integrity and Systems to support the university’s R&E ambitions. You will take responsibility for staff development, and training within the team, ensuring all staff have the necessary skills and experience to provide the support required alongside devising, managing, supporting and monitoring the delivery of a suite of training and development opportunities for university staff related to R&E governance, integrity and systems.
You will provide strategic leadership to R&E governance, integrity and systems support, engaging with the faculty leadership to ensure the RED offer meets the needs of the university and external bodies. You will also oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of a strategy and action plan to enhance R&E culture, working with the faculties, to provide a positive and thriving environment for staff.
You will ensure all R&E governance and integrity policies, procedures and guidelines are fit for purpose, identifying and implementing improvements and ensuring compliance with relevant concordats and requirements including Trusted Research.
We are looking for someone with a high level of emotional intelligence who has the ability to develop strong working relationships with staff at all levels across the University to ensure quality service delivery, demonstrating political awareness, diplomacy and tact. You will need proven experience of managing and motivating a team; outstanding leadership skills; demonstrable significant experience of the higher education sector and of research policy, governance and ethics; proven experience of working in or managing a research integrity function; detailed demonstrable knowledge of R&E concordats and of ethics and governance standards, acts and legislation with a proven ability to develop and implement successful and efficient policies and processes.
