Exeter Clinical Trials Unit

University of Exeter Medical School

This full time role is available on a permanent basis.

The Post

The Exeter Clinical Trials Unit (ExeCTU) is seeking a resourceful and organised team-player with substantial clinical trials data management experience to join its Information Systems and Data Management (ISDM) team as Senior Data Manager. The ISDM team currently consists of nine staff members with multi-disciplinary skills in both data management and information systems. This role provides an opportunity to help grow, shape and optimise the Unit’s crucial Information Systems and Data Management function.

ExeCTU uses REDCap as its primary tool for data capture and data management. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with REDCap, or an equivalent system, and have a commitment to ensuring data management processes and timelines are adhered to. The Senior Data Manager will have data management oversight of all studies and so will need to manage working on multiple tasks, and will use well-developed people management skills to oversee, supervise and mentor the ISDM team staff members. They may also be assigned as the Data Management Lead on a small number of studies, requiring hands-on work. Strong communication, interpersonal and team working skills, along with the ability to manage and meet deadlines, will allow the ideal candidate to excel in this role.

The role also requires an understanding of the requirements of computer system validation (CSV) / computer system assurance (CSA) in a Good Clinical Practice (GCP) setting.
