Public Health and Sport Sciences
The University of Exeter's Public Health and Sport Sciences department is one of three departments in the Medical School and situated within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. It offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs that combine aspects of public health, physical activity, and sport sciences. The department is known for its interdisciplinary approach, blending research and teaching in areas such as exercise physiology, health promotion, and sports performance. With state-of-the-art facilities and a team of expert researchers and lecturers, the department aims to produce graduates who can address complex health challenges and contribute to the advancement of sport and exercise sciences. The department also engages in collaborative research projects and maintains strong links with local and national health organizations and sports bodies. About you
For a Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by a PhD (or nearing completion) or equivalent in Exercise Physiology to develop teaching programmes, and teach and support learning.
  • Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students.
  • Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities.
  • Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching.
  • Be expected to work towards Fellowship of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
