The role
The Department of Education is looking to appoint a Research Assistant to join an NIHR funded study to evaluate early identification and intervention for children with Speech Language and Communication Needs delivered by Health Visiting teams across England.
This study is led by Professor Cristina McKean, University of Oxford and Professor Lindsay Pennington, Newcastle University with colleagues from Northumbria University and the Institute of Health Visiting.
This exciting opportunity will see the postholder join a team of researchers working with the Principal Investigator across a number of national and international studies in the field of Speech Language and Communication Needs and SEND.
The post holder will have responsibility for organising permissions and access to relevant data (NPD; ECHILD; CSDS data set); contribute to the design, analysis and dissemination of a national survey of HV practice, mapping this geographically and code and preparing secondary data for analysis.
The successful candidate will hold a first degree together with some relevant experience, and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the field of child language development and/or interventions to support children’s health, development and educational outcomes to work within established research programme.
They must be able to manage their own research and administrative activities within provided guidelines, have close attention to detail and excellent team-working and communication skills.
The post if offered on a part-time basis at 18.75 hours per week fixed term for 18 months.
