The role
The School of Chemistry is seeking to appoint a part-time (0.4 to 0.5 FTE) pathway 2 Research Associate in Analytical Chemistry. The appointment starts as soon as possible and will end on 30/12/2026. The role holder will join a multidisciplinary group of researchers working on a ERC-funded project entitled “SUSTAIN – Sustainability of Agriculture in Neolithic Europe ”, led by Dr Maria Ivanova (University of Vienna) with Dr Melanie Roffet-Salque at the University of Bristol. The postholder will be part of the Organic Geochemistry Unit within the School of Chemistry.
What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for the interpretation of lipid residue data obtained from archaeological pottery. You will be acquiring compound-specific 14C dates from archaeological lipid extracts at the Bristol Research AMS facility. You will be producing reports and manuscripts in readiness for publication.
