We are currently recruiting a Subject Librarian to work closely with our School of Health & Social Care advising, teaching and informing customers about Library collections and services.
The Role:
The role of Subject Librarian will allow you to provide invaluable support to students, academic staff and researchers within our School of Health & Social Care As this is the case, we are seeking candidates with experience and well-rounded knowledge of nursing and allied healthcare disciplines.
This post is one that oversees the selection, management and development of resources and information services for a range of library users, with focus on the subject disciplines of the school mentioned above.
As a qualified Librarian (or someone with extensive experience in library/information work), you will be in an excellent position to use your skills and experience to liaise proactively with designated groups of staff, students, and other customers to inform them of IS stock and services, promote these services to them, and to anticipate and respond dynamically to demand.
By creating and delivering a wide range of user education services, this role will allow you to help improve digital and information literacy skills, while giving you the opportunity to actively contribute to the Library’s consistently high NSS scores, enhancing the student experience and supporting the university’s learning and teaching strategy.
Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to support the university’s research strategy and research outputs, supporting all levels of researchers through the provision and exploitation of high-quality resources, assisting with systematic reviews, as well as advising on publishing and Open Access.
