Location: Bishops Square, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield
The Finance Department is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant. This is a permanent position and is an integral part of the Finance function, reporting to the Group Financial Accountant.
Main duties and responsibilities
You will be responsible for preparing published financial statements, other statutory returns and internal financial reports for the University and the Group. You will ensure that financial records are accurate and in line with applicable accounting standards. You will oversee the financial administration of the University of Hertfordshire Charitable Trust and the University’s scholarship and prize funds.
Skills and experience
We are seeking someone with strong analytical skills, who is pro-active and able to work autonomously with excellent attention to detail. Substantial prior experience of producing consolidated financial statements and involvement in complex audits is essential. You will have strong IT, communication and technical skills and be able to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with substantial proven post-qualification experience. You will have a minimum of a degree (or equivalent level 6 qualification) or significant appropriate equivalent experience.
