BACKGROUND

We have established strategic partnerships with a broad range of data science and AI users including Lloyd’s Register Foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Accenture, the UK Government Defence and Security, The National Air Traffic Service, Singapore Defence & Security Organisation and Roche.

We are now looking to focus our efforts to ensure we can attract the right partners to maximise successes and impact across our strategic priorities.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

This is a new and exciting role for the right candidate.

The successful applicant will lead and support a team of partnership development professionals focused on achieving ambitious partnership development at scale & revenue generation, including through establishing new and impactful strategic partnerships, developing collaborative grant proposals & bids, and with potential to further develop commercial engagement opportunities.

You will have solid experience of proactive revenue generation at the seven-figure level and ideally above, and proven acumen for driving partnership development team performance.

The ideal candidate is a resilient, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, with demonstrable leadership qualities.

DUTIES

  • Lead on the development of new partnerships.
  • Take overall responsibility for the partnership strategy.
  • Lead a team of partnership development professionals.
  • Drive further development and delivery of the Institute’s existing partnerships.
  • Tak responsibility for the Institute’s Strategic Partners Board (SPB).
  • Ensure all partnerships comply with the Institute policies and regulations. 

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent level of professional qualifications and/or experience.
  • Proven experience of securing ambitious strategic partnerships, with a strong track record of proactive revenue generation at the seven-figure level and above.
  • Well-developed commercial acumen and experience of managing partnerships’ team budgets effectively.
  • Successful record of widening engagement with diverse partners in target sectors, including demonstrable creativity, negotiation and diplomacy needed to identify new opportunities.
  • Track-record of successful contractual negotiation, in a science and/or innovation context, including an excellent grasp of intellectual property, and understanding of issues related to open-source software and practices.
  • Good understanding of higher education sector, national research institutes and universities.
  • Persuasive communication and presentation skills.

The Institute is headquartered in Kings Cross, London and so while we operate a hybrid working model you will be expected to spend time there each month to connect to your peer group and to work with teams across the Institute.
